Clients come to counselling because they have doubts, difficulties, frustrations in problem situations that they are not handling well. These problems often cause emotional turmoil .
The counselling process provides a secure professional relationship to assist working through these problems. It is through this groundwork of trust that the client can peel back the layers to reveal their true selves. This involves a collaborative journey where the client and therapist embark upon together. The client then can choose their own strategies that best fit their resources. It is empowering when a client realises that they can be the author of their own lives, and is always in a process of change.
Although we are products of our past, living is a process of developing oneself.
