Counselling In Kensington, Chelsea, Earls Court, Central London

Hi, I am a fully-qualified, experienced counsellor and therapist working with adults in the Kensington, Earls Court area of central London.

Home. Savita

Being human can be quite an arduous task and it can be difficult to reach out for help. Life is challenging and unpredictable, and at times, we do not feel rooted in ourselves. You can pretend that everything is OK, however, you might feel like you’ve lost touch with the joy in life. When this happens, you may feel disconnected from yourself, others and the world around you.

As a therapist, I understand that embarking upon counselling is a sensitive decision which should not be rushed or taken lightly. Be kind to yourself as you begin this journey.

I offer a non-judgmental, confidential space where we will work at your pace to discover more about you, your life and your challenges. Together, we will explore whatever may be troubling you and help you to achieve a sense of balance and harmony.

In my counselling practice, I believe that it is important to honour you as my client and to establish a therapeutic relationship that is respectful and trustworthy.

About Me

I became a therapist because I want to help people learn to cope with life’s struggles. I realised, when I was working as ground crew at an airport, that I was helping passengers to handle the highs and lows that had brought them on their travels. Counselling was my calling.

So I trained to become a person centred counsellor at the Metanoia Institute, which is renowned for its counselling and psychotherapy training.

I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and an accredited member of the Professional Standards Authority .

I am experienced in counselling clients who have struggled with issues such as:

  • Anger
  • Addiction
  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement
  • Body Image
  • Childhood Trauma
  • Depression
  • Eating Disorders
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Relationships
  • Self-harm
  • Shame
  • Stress
  • Self-esteem
  • Trauma
  • Work-related Difficulties

“When you are in doubt, be still and wait; be still until the sunlight pours through and dispels the mists, as it surely will. Then go forward with courage.”

My Approach as a Therapist

I am a person centred counsellor and I believe that trust should be at the core of our therapeutic relationship. In our sessions, my priority will be to understand you, rather than evaluating, diagnosing or fixing.

Our goal will not be to aim for perfection, but to integrate all the different parts of who you are in order to pave the way for healing to begin.

Art as Healing Therapy

Sometimes there are simply no words to describe an emotion. So in addition to talking therapy, I can give you the opportunity to express yourself creatively.

As a counsellor, I know that expressing your feelings through drawing images can enable you to connect with your deepest emotions and allow you to heal. Anyone can benefit from this, you do not need to have any artistic skills to express yourself through art in our counselling sessions together.

Mindfulness Techniques

I believe in the power of mindfulness and meditation, and I have a diploma in mindfulness. Personally, I have been practising meditation myself for over 30 years.

If we decide together that mindfulness may help in your counselling sessions, we can incorporate these techniques into your therapy. I have used mindfulness tools at my voluntary practice as a counsellor for young adults and found that it can have a profound effect on the way we react emotionally. Through mindfulness you can begin to accept yourself and learn to respond to difficult situations in a more measured, patient manner.

Your First Visit

From your very first appointment with me as your therapist, we will create an environment of privacy and trust. The first time we meet, we will spend a 50-minute session exploring what has brought you to counselling and talk about your expectations. This is an opportunity for you to ask me any questions about my approach and the way I work. If you are happy with that, we can lay down a foundation for our therapy sessions together.

I offer face-to-face appointments for short or long-term counselling at my practice in Kensington, near Earls Court on Wednesdays between 3pm and 9pm. I also have flexibility outside of these hours and on other days, please contact me for availability.

My private counselling practice is situated in a quiet part of Central London. I offer therapy in a beautiful, spacious room, located in Kensington, SW7. My practice is minutes away from Gloucester Road, and Earls Court tube stops.

If you would like to explore working with me as a counsellor or would like to book an initial counselling appointment in Kensington in central London, contact me.
